Bob Tracy '69
Bob Dillard '69 contributed the following obiturary along with this note:

Bob was my roommate for a couple a years and even though we lived on different coasts, we stayed close all during his MS years. Dick Rose and I had a new trophy case installed at the DU house and it is dedicated to Bob.

Obiturary

Robert S. Tracy of Albany, CA. passed away on June 12, 2007 at the age of 59, from the complications of Multiple Sclerosis.

Bob was born on September 26, 1947 in Chicago, IL, son of Katherine Keister and Atlee Sperry Tracy.  He graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, IL., where he was quite the jock.  He got his letters from wrestling and cross country running.  He went on to earn his BS in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill where he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity, his “second family”; and his Masters in Public Administration from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.  He took a year of to work at Sugar Bowl ski resort and to travel in Europe.  He worked for the Veterans Administration for 13 years in Washington, DC where he participated in a theatre group and traveled throughout the country, consulting on new and renovated VA hospitals.

He moved to Albany, CA in 1981 and married Barbro Sanfors on November 8, 1992.  They enjoyed Berkeley Rep theatre and enjoyed traveling to sightsee and visit family.  Bob volunteered with the Oakland Multiple Sclerosis Society and wrote the peer support newsletter for four years.  He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Piedmont, CA.  He also participated in several yoga groups where he had many dear and caring friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Barbro, sister Jane Steidel, her husband David and son Karl of Quincy, CA; cousins: Karen Schaefer of Greensboro, NC, Gail Schaefer of Efland, NC, Tracy Merriman of Frederick, MD.; maternal aunts Dr. Mary E. Keister and Mrs. Jane Bolton of Greensboro, NC and sisters and brothers in law Ulla and Per-Erik of Sweden, Rolf and Jenny of Holland, and a host of nephews and a niece.
